But this I know for sure,
you are missing now from me

And behind my every turn,
the footsteps I can hear
Echos of when you walked with me

They see but they don’t they say,
but it right there in the eye.
You smile and reassure,
you’re wearing your disguise.

And stop and hold your breath,
the only thing that’s clear,
in the dimming of your day the lonely truth.

In the summer, I can hear it in the trees.
In the Autumn, with every fallen golden leaf
In the winters frozen snow, there’s one that that I know
I'll miss you another come the spring

So ends another day,
pretending to take part.
But the hollow always shows when there’s no heart.
And years keep drifting by,
says the mirror on the wall.
But one thing stays the same throughout it all
